What makes LuLé unique?

FAMILY
vs.   industry
You want to to the best for your family. So do we! LuLé is a small-scale family business with a focus on making the best possible cribs here in Canada, not in a far-away factory. Of course, industrial-scaled production can be great, and we need industry for all kinds of necessary things. But at LuLé, we believe that childhood should not be industrialized. It should be as natural, clean and as healthy as possible.
PASSION
vs.   profit
Your new baby is a passion for you. Our passion is all natural cribs! We started LuLé with the passion to offer the best possible option for expecting parents, and not as a business to maximize profits. LuLé cribs are designed and built with passion: the passion of our founder, our designer and our artisans. We love what we do, and it shows in the beautiful cribs we create together!
PLANTS
vs.   industrialized parts and chemicals
For 9 months, you will do everything possible to provide a safe place for your baby to grow. We believe that you should also have the option to choose the best possible environment for you baby once they arrive! LuLé cribs are made with solid wood and finished with all-natural linseed oil and pine resin. We do not use wood products (such as plywood, particle board, MDF or glued-on veneers) or paints and finishes made of unknown, industrialized chemicals. You can rest easy knowing that your child is surrounded by natural ingredients that pose no health risk.
ARTISANS
vs.   factories
We all want our children to grow and thrive in a just society that values the work people do. Our furniture is made by local woodworkers with a passion for making customized cribs for your growing family. We don’t need to assure you that our factory workers are treated well because our artisans don’t work in a factory. When you purchase a LuLé crib, you are supporting your artisan neighbours!
CLEAN AIR
vs.   off-gassing
Tiny lungs need special care. LuLé cribs are safe for the air that your baby will breathe, and you can verify this for yourself. Visit our Safety page where you can read the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of the products we use. LuLé cribs are the safest on the market, and we are completely transparent about how they are made.
SAFETY
vs.   unknown
Your job is to keep your precious gift safe and sound. We can help! We have spent years sourcing the safest finishes and designing the perfect crib. And our cribs are third-party tested to ensure that they meet or exceed crib safety standards. The products we use are user-friendly and eco-responsible, making LuLé cribs safe for our artisans to build and safe for your family to use.
SUPPORT
vs.   frustration
You can count on us! At LuLé, you can talk to our founder, our crib designer or the very person who built your crib. If you lose a screw, you can contact us directly and we’ll send a new one off to you right away. If you need some encouragement to assemble your crib, we are happy to help. When you contact us, you will be speaking with someone who is as excited about your new crib as you are, and we will do everything we can to help!
DURABILITY
vs.   short life
Wobbly cribs and broken pieces will not be a problem with a LuLé crib! LuLé cribs are built to last, made with the best materials available. They are easily repaired and refurbished because they are made with solid wood and natural finishes. The wood can be recycled because it is not covered in a toxic finish (unlike most commercial furniture available today). And if a LuLé crib sadly ends up in a landfill, it will decompose safely. We believe in our cribs so much that we will buy it back from you once you have finished using it!
(Crib Buy-Back available in areas where cribs can be returned to a LuLé workshop. Please contact us for more details)
HAND-MADE
vs.   machine-produced
When we say hand-made, we mean it! Every LuLé crib is handmade from solid wood and natural finishes. Each piece is prepped, cut, sanded, assembled and finished by an artisan who wants to make you the most beautiful crib possible. We can even send you a photo of your crib being made, if you ask us nicely!
MADE-TO-ORDER
vs.   in a warehouse
When you order a LuLé crib, we make the crib for YOU. We do not have a warehouse full of LuLé cribs waiting to be purchased and shipped off. Every one of our cribs is made-to-order. Once we have received your order, the path to creating your crib begins!
CUSTOMIZED
vs.   more of the same
Tired of the same, middle-of-the-road cribs found in all the local stores?LuLé offers customization options in the type of wood or paint colour. You choose between linseed-oil finished natural wood (dark, dramatic walnut or light, natural poplar) or milk-paint finish in a variety of colours. You'll have the most beautiful crib on the block!
